George Bush has put the rubber stamp on Mountaintop Removal. Now the coal industry feels obliged to insult our intelligence with all of their "good for the economy" propoganda! Spare me! I don't know how much more "prosperity" West Virginia can stand from the coal companies!

Please read the Office of Surface Mining Rule Change and send in your comments. West Virginia's land area already destroyed - I said DESTROYED! - is equivalent to losing ONE ENTIRE COUNTY! Help Stop Mountaintop Removal before King Coal plunders it all! Tell Washington that West Virginia is NOT OPEN for this kind of business! Write your letter TODAY!

And if you can - please attend the DEP Public Hearing at Hawk's Nest State Park in Ansted, WV, on Friday, August 31 at 6:00 pm. They will grant permits for 2 Mountaintop Removal operations overlooking the park. This will be the kiss of death for the tourism industry on that section of The Midland Trail (US Route 60). Let them know that you do not approve!
